Living in your home city one typically does not do what the tourists do. We often just exist without experiencing the beauty that our city has to offer. For me, no more, I am going to be a tourist in my own city. Today, i took the trek to the heart of Albuquerque to see one of our most famous houses…the spaceship house!
This home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, that most people call ‘the spaceship house’ or ‘bug house’ was designed and built by architect Bart Prince in 1983. Prince is renowned for his incredibly creative approach to designing structures. The homes he designs are quirky and most definitely one-of-a-kind.Watch movie online Rings (2017)Watch movie online John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)
This house was everything that I expected it to be, and more. There are pillars covered in mosaic tiles. Cinder blocks and metal “things” create a silo-esque addition. This house even has metal dinosaur sculptures in the front yard, as if there needed to be more of a reason to draw people to see the house.
This ‘spaceship house’ was truly a wonder for me to see. I can’t believe I hand’t been out to see it before now.
